Nicole Lee
On December 12, a stone tablet featuring an engraving of guanyin, is picture on a Kaohsiung demolition site.  The Buddhist goddess of mercy and compassion, the tablet stands on 3m-high, half of which is buried underground.  There has been guess that the tablet is a gravestone, and perhaps deceased is buried below.  The stone tablet feature of guanyin might also mark the location of a Buddhist place of worship, but there is still no way of knowing for certain.

This tablet of guanyin it is different to effigies of Guanyin normally found in Taiwan, and probably belongs to Japanese Buddhism. The Department of Cultural Affairs is looking for expert to appraise on the discovery.
